Drinking tea is very beneficial not just to your body but as well as your mind and psychological health. I think it would be hard to argue that giving yourself 5-10 minutes of break from the daily stressful activities while sipping a nice cup of warm tea would be a bad thing. It actually gives your every unit a quick yoga or overall spa without the need to spend so much, which is always a great thing!
There are lots of factors which can affect the quality of your favorite tea. But in this simple write-up, let us highlight these three which is most often-than-not the reasons why you will love your tea more or will cause you to shift to another drink.
1. Amount of tea leaves – whether in a tea bag or loose leaf, it is important to determine the sufficient amount of tea leaves you put to your tea as it will determine the richness of flavor and aroma of your brew. Some teas get bitter with more or lesser tea leaves. The standard teacup (8 oz) requires a teaspoon full (2.3 g) of tea leaves. So it’s necessary to do some simple math to really enjoy your tea cups. J But it’s worth it I tell you.
2. Put your water into its rolling temperature! – Again, it is very important to use boiling water (212 oF (100oC) to really get the most of your tea leaves. Tea extracts get to dissolve more on hot water than lukewarm water and this will also lead to a better steeping process.
While waiting for your water to roll out of the pot, you should also try warming up the tea leaves first by submerging it to sufficient warm water on its pot, enough to cover the tea leaf or tea bag. This also hastens the dissolving process to get the most of your roiboos tea.
3. Sufficient Steeping Time – basically, standard teas like green, black and white tea requires only 3-5 minutes to steep. If you steep longer, most probably you will get a bitter taste which is not good. But this is not the case with roiboos tea. The longer you steep it, the better it actually gets. You don’t need to worry about leaving it sit in your kitchen as you have to do some other stuff. It’s dependent on its own compared to most teas. And what is more incredible with roiboos is that its zesty flavor and aroma gets richer and richer as you steep it longer. Don’t worry if you are not sure how to say Rooibos, as you can say it anyway that you like. Many times people will say that you are supposed to pronounce it Roy Bus.
So that’s it for now, we do hope it helped you in a way. Enjoy your tea experience with roiboos. And oh, you can personalize your roiboos tea by adding some twist into it. It goes perfect with milk, honey, lemon, cinnamon and a whole lot more!
